The Committee of ALPHA announced the launch of a series of stimulating symposia which commenced on 29 May 2008 at which the Gerousia, the learned elders of our legal fraternity, will speak ("the logos") about their life experiences or judicial insights in the context of an Ancient Hellenic aphorism, saying or philosophical thought.

Our first orator was Her Honour Judge RC Tupman DCJ who  provided her logos on the saying of Epictetus, Greek Stoic philosopher (circa 55 AD-135 AD), that "Most People Are Disturbed Not By Things, But By The View They Take of Them".
